Every hourhas its own sky.

StrataFx shapes how Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 draws the atmosphere, from the blue overhead to the haze on the horizon. Its adaptive themes follow the sun from departure to arrival.

Early access. $18.99 once, on StrataSim Shop, with tax added at checkout where it applies. For Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on 64-bit Windows. Steam is verified. Microsoft Store, Xbox app and PC Game Pass validation is in progress.

The StrataFx look studio during a flight. The adaptive Realistic theme is live at golden hour, with Quick tune sliders for atmosphere depth, sky blue, sun glow and ambient light, and Stop applying and Restore original along the bottom.

Not a filter. The sky itself.

StrataFx never paints over the finished frame or swaps a texture. It adjusts the values the simulator's own renderer uses to draw the sky, so the light you see is still scattered, lit and composed by Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Same moment. Different sky.

Each pair is one moment in the same weather, without StrataFx and with it. Drag across a picture to compare.

An Airbus A350 on the apron at sunset, without StrataFx: the setting sun spreads into a wide yellow glow across the sky.
The same moment with StrataFx: the sun is a small disc in a warm, even haze, and the light on the apron is softer.
On the apron at sunset.
The wing of an airliner through a cabin window, high over desert, without StrataFx: a deep blue sky over sharp ground.
The same moment with StrataFx: a paler sky, and haze softening the ground toward the horizon.
From a window seat at cruise.
An airliner engine and wing over a bay and its city, under scattered cloud, without StrataFx: bright white cloud and a clear view to the hills.
The same moment with StrataFx: grayer cloud, and a haze that deepens with distance until the hills fade into it.

Themes that follow the sun.

A fixed theme holds one style all flight. An adaptive theme is a set of curves: StrataFx reads the sun's height, the local time and the visibility from your flight, and glides between settings as they change. Drag across this sky.

The sky is drawn for this page. The sliders move the way the Realistic theme moves them in StrataFx.

A little fine-tuning. Or all of it.

Quick tune gives you four sliders: atmosphere depth, sky blue, sun glow and ambient light. Advanced controls open every sky and environment value, each with a number you can type to nine decimal places, color channels that lock together and a reset of its own.

Undo and redo cover every change, and Compare saved shows your edits against the theme you started from.

Follows your weather. Never replaces it.

Clouds, wind and rain belong to your weather, whether it comes from MSFS Live Weather, a preset or StrataWx. StrataFx changes how that atmosphere looks, and nothing else.

Run StrataWx alongside it and StrataFx connects on its own, so adaptive themes follow the weather StrataWx is flying along with the simulator's sun and clock. StrataWx is never required.

Meet StrataWx
StrataFx settings, Better together: StrataWx builds the weather and StrataFx shapes the atmosphere around it, with StrataWx connected.

Press Stop, and the sky goes back to exactly how the simulator drew it.

Nothing until you apply.

Opening StrataFx changes nothing. Your look reaches the simulator when you press Apply, and Stop, Restore original or closing the app hands the sky back.

Only builds we have checked.

StrataFx recognizes the exact simulator build before it touches anything. When Microsoft Flight Simulator updates, it waits for a StrataFx update rather than guessing, and your themes stay safe.

A normal app.

No administrator prompt and nothing installed into your simulator. Code-signed by StrataSim Designs LLC, and updated in the background.

Make the sky yours.
